Rumors that Harvey Weinstein is quietly hiding out at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival are quickening by the day.

Weinstein — who was essentially excommunicated by the film community after allegations of sexual abuse on dozens of women surfaced over roughly the last couple of years — is rumored to be hanging out in Park City, Utah, this week, where the Sundance Film Festival is taking place. Page Six reported the following Monday:

Rumors have plagued Park City that the disgraced Hollywood mogul is at the Sundance Film Festival this year. A source told Page Six that they heard Weinstein was taking meetings, but he hadn’t been seen publicly.

A separate source told Page Six that Weinstein’s former assistant attended the Gucci and Chime for Change event on Sunday, giving credence to the fact that Weinstein might have been in Park City.

It’s not clear what sort of meetings Weinstein is taking, or who he’s meeting with. However, the film mogul seems to be relatively powerful despite disturbing allegations of abuse. Weinstein remains a free man, having entered a “not guilty” plea in a rape and criminal sex act case in New York City.

According to CNN, Weinstein “faces five felony charges: two counts of predatory sexual assault, one count of criminal sexual act in the first degree and one count each of first-degree rape and third-degree rape.”

His trial begins May 6.
