After coming up empty handed from the Michael Cohen hearing, Democrats have resorted to unleashing perhaps the greatest abuse of power in American history.

Despite attempt after attempt by Democrat committee members to get the disgraced former lawyer to implicate President Trump in criminal activity, the Cohen hearing ended up being devastating for the Democrats when their star witness obliterated — on several fronts — the entire collusion hoax.

Without wasting time, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Nadler, who would oversee any impeachment proceedings, sent more than 80 document requests to a wide array of individuals, organizations, and government entities — including Donald Trump’s children, business partners, and political allies — seeking additional information about the president.

By dragging President Trump’s family into a politically motivated quest to undermine his presidency, Democrats in Washington have reached a new low. Their refusal to accept the will of the people has reached such a low point that they’re now targeting innocent bystanders with baseless investigations that could ruin lives in an attempt to nullify the 2016 election.

House Republican leader Kevin McCarthy was exactly right when he said, “They’re setting a whole new course because there’s no collusion so they want to build something else.”

The latest investigation is merely an extension of the coup that began when Hillary Clinton and the Democratic National Committee directly colluded with the Obama Justice Department and FBI to spy on the Trump campaign — all of which led to the appointment of Robert Mueller as special Counsel after those efforts failed to prevent Donald Trump’s election.

As it becomes more and more clear that the Mueller investigation is going to wrap up without finding evidence of the Russian collusion it has sought, Democrats must find some way to keep the witch hunt going, and the easiest way to do that is by using their new House majority to launch endless investigations into the President and anyone close to him.

Instead of focusing on beating President Trump at the ballot box, they’re trying to use nefarious means to remove him from office, perhaps because they know they can’t defeat him with their radical agenda calling for post-birth abortion, an end to carbon emissions, and job-killing taxes that will bring our current economic revival to a screeching halt.

The real reason Democrats are going after President Trump is that they have no new ideas to move the country forward. They’ve been soundly beaten, and they don’t know what else to do.

Perhaps Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh said it best during his confirmation hearing: “This is a circus. The consequences will extend long past my nomination. The consequences will be with us for decades. What goes around, comes around.”

President Trump will continue fighting to restore American greatness, but for the rest of his first term he’ll have to do so while contending with obstructionist Democrats bent on abusing their newfound power to undermine his presidency.
