The New York Giants apparently aren’t looking at drafting quarterback Dwayne Haskins.

According to CBS Sports on Saturday, Dianna Russini said on Jordan Raanan’s Breaking Big Blue podcast that the Giants don’t think Haskins is a fit for the organization. (RELATED: New York Giants Pay Eli Manning Roster Bonus Of $5 Million)

This is a bit mind-boggling if the report is true. The Giants desperately need a new quarterback. Eli Manning is on his last leg, and there’s no debate about it.

Outside of Kyler Murray, who is being eyed by the Cardinals with the first pick, Haskins is without a doubt the best QB in the draft. (RELATED: Ohio State Quarterback Dwayne Haskins Declares For The NFL Draft)

I just don’t get what the Giants might be thinking here. Who are they going to take? Do they really believe Drew Lock is the answer at number six? It makes no sense at all. The former Ohio State star is the obvious choice.

The only way this makes sense is if the Giants plan on tanking so that they can draft Tua Tagovailoa when he comes out of Alabama.

My friends, that’s insanely risky. Passing on a gunslinger like Haskins in hopes of something better in a year is rolling the dice in a fashion that can cost jobs. (RELATED: Dwayne Haskins Runs 5.04 During NFL Combine)

Let me be crystal clear here. The Giants should draft Haskins and any other decision is the wrong one. It’s that simple.
