The best quarterback in this draft for the New York Giants is apparently Dwayne Haskins.

According to the New York Daily News, the top options for the Giants are Dwayne Haskins, Kyler Murray or Drew Lock, in that order. The team, however, would rather trade for Cardinals quarterback Josh Rosen if it only costs them a second-round pick instead of drafting a new QB in the first round. It’s going to be absolute chaos if the Giants don’t draft a quarterback and trade for Rosen instead. It feels like everybody just kind of assumes at this point that they’ll be taking Haskins if he’s available, which will be likely when they pick at six.

If they go for Rosen instead, things are going to get interesting very quickly. It’s not a secret that the team wants to develop somebody under Eli Manning for at least another year. (RELATED: New York Giants Pay Eli Manning Roster Bonus Of $5 Million)

Here’s a wild situation to ponder. The Giants could trade for Rosen, pass on drafting a quarterback this year and then just hit the reset button next year when Alabama gunslinger Tua Tagovailoa enters the draft.

If it only costs them a second-round pick in 2019, then it’s not a lot to risk if things go down the drain again and Tua is available in 2020.

The NFL is a quarterback-driven league, and you have to get the best one available whenever you can.

It should be fascinating to see what they do when the draft gets underway April 25. Given the fact there’s no guarantee you can get Tua next season, I say pull the trigger on Haskins right now.

Fortune favors the bold and drafting the former OSU star is a bold move that I like.
