Jeremy Renner will be back as Hawkeye for a new project with Disney.

The Hollywood Reporter reported the following Wednesday:

A Hawkeye miniseries is in the works for the upcoming Disney+ streaming series, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.

The series will center on Clint Barton, the superhero archery expert Renner has played in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since 2011’s Thor. The miniseries is planned as a jumping off point for Barton to be able to pass on the Hawkeye mantle to his young protege Kate Bishop, who in the comics is a member of the Young Avengers and has starred in the Hawkeye series from Matt Fraction and Alex Aja.

I want to be totally clear here and avoid as much confusion as possible. I’m not an expert on Marvel content. Not even by a mile. I enjoy “Avengers,” “Iron Man” and all the rest of that good stuff.

Having said that, Renner is one of my favorite actors in all of Hollywood. I’ll watch literally anything he’s in. “The Town” and “Wind River” are both two of the greatest movies ever made.

The star’s actor performance in both is a big reason why.

So, despite not knowing a ton about Hawkeye in the comments, there’s a decent chance that I give this miniseries a chance.

There’s no way it disappoints with Renner running the show, right? It just won’t.

Finally, it’s going to be interesting to see how Disney’s streaming service does. I don’t think you’re legally allowed to be a company these days unless you have a streaming branch.

It’s starting to get a bit out of control, and I don’t want to subscribe to a million difference services. Let’s hope Disney doesn’t rake us over the coals.
