Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden revealed to supporters in South Carolina Saturday night one nickname he would call president Trump.

Biden made his remarks, according to the campaign pool report, at the Wheeler Hill home of Richard “Dick” Harpootlian, an attorney and former South Carolina Democratic Party chairman.

A man in attendance said, “I want you to fight back; once he throws a nickname at you, you gotta throw a nickname back.”

“There’s so many nicknames I’m inclined to give this guy,” Biden said. “You can just start with clown.”

“On every single issue and on every demeaning thing he says about other people, I have no problem responding directly. What I’m not going to do is get into what he wants me to do. He wants this to be a mud wrestling match.” (RELATED: Joe Biden Faces Left-Wing Backlash Over 2015 Cheney Video)

The former vice president also implied that he has had private conversations with Trump, saying: “I let him understand what I think about him.”

President Donald Trump already nicknamed Biden “Sleepy Joe” around the time the Delaware Democrat entered the race to become the presidential nominee for his party.

“Welcome to the race Sleepy Joe. I only hope you have the intelligence, long in doubt, to wage a successful primary campaign. It will be nasty — you will be dealing with people who truly have some very sick & demented ideas. But if you make it, I will see you at the Starting Gate,”  Trump tweeted.

Biden had previously said that if both were teenagers in high school he would take Trump out back and “beat the hell out of him.” Looking back on those remarks, Biden now says he should not have said that.

“Well guess what, I probably shouldn’t have done that,” Biden said Saturday. “I don’t want to get it down to that level. The presidency is an office that requires some dignity.”
