Seattle Seahawks rookie receiver D.K. Metcalf is already making a great impression on head coach Pete Carroll.
The Super Bowl winning coach told the media the following Friday about the team’s second round pick, according to ProFootballTalk:
I mean, he’s big and he’s fast. [H]is catching range was exhibited today for a start. And you know, we’ve got to figure it out, figure out where it is, maybe even more unique than we thought coming in. So we just develop it as we go. But big and really fast and the catching range was really obvious today.
I can’t wait to see what Metcalf does in the NFL. He was one of the most talked about prospects over the past year and for good reason.
He’s a physical freak of nature. He’s one of the biggest athletes I’ve ever seen and he plays wide receiver. It’s an absurd combination of size and skills.
I was stunned he fell to the second round, and now we’ll see what he can do with the Seahawks.
The difference in how D.K. Metcalf (14) moves his size and how Jazz Ferguson moves his. Striking.
That’s why the first is #Seahawks’ 2nd-round pick they traded up for, the other is an undrafted rookie free agent @thenewstribune pic.twitter.com/3NuExSLs7p

You have to be incredibly happy if you’re Russell Wilson watching Metcalf out there running routes. If he pans out, the Seahawks star quarterback is going to have one hell of a massive target to stretch the field, which is something they’ve lacked in the past. (RELATED: Russell Wilson Agree
Massive WR D.K. Metcalf (14) is quick, too, in drills during first day of #Seahawks rookie minicamp. @thenewstribune pic.twitter.com/kCjDRMHWTc

The Seahawks paid Wilson a ton of money recently to stick around with the team for the long haul. Now they went out and gave him a monster receiver.
If you’re a fan of the Seahawks, there’s a lot to be excited about. I can’t wait to see how Wilson and Metcalf work together.
I have high expectations, and I think they’re going to be met.
