Former UFC superstar Anthony Johnson might be in some hot water after allegedly getting physical with his girlfriend.

According to TMZ Tuesday, the alleged victim claims Johnson put her in a “football hold” in order to carry her to another room after she began packing his stuff up in a Florida home. The report stated she didn’t have any visible injuries, but Johnson did admit to grabbing her during an argument. He maintained he never intended to hurt her.

The UFC legend was arrested and charged with misdemeanor domestic violence. According to TMZ, he pled no contest to a similar charge with a different woman back in 2009.

Well, this isn’t a great situation. Naturally, it’s important to remember you’re always presumed innocent until proven guilty in this country.

He’s now on his second arrest for alleged violence against women, and it’s just an ugly look for the UFC. This also comes shortly after accused woman abuser Greg Hardy just fought in the octagon. All the way around, it’s not a great look for Dana White’s league. (RELATED: Greg Hardy Gets His First UFC Win, Destroys Dmitrii Smoliakov)

Again, Johnson has the right to be presumed innocent, but you just don’t want headlines like this out there for the UFC. A retired star allegedly getting physical with his wife is a rough look to shake.

Let’s hope the criminal justice system gets to the bottom of what happened. Keep checking back for more details when we have them on this developing situation.

Hopefully, Dana White can figure out a way to make sure his league doesn’t start to get the reputation of having athletes who don’t respect women.
