Prince Harry and Meghan Markle revealed the name of their first-born son Wednesday.

The royal duo named their baby boy, born May 6, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. The couple made the official announcement of the name via their official Instagram account.

Prince Harry and Markle shared a black-and-white photo of The Queen meeting her eighth grandchild. Markle’s mom was also present for the moment.

The announcement of the name ends weeks of speculation over what the baby would possibly be named. Reports circulated that the royal baby would be named Arthur at one point. (RELATED: Meghan Markle And Prince Harry Give First Look At Royal Baby)

As previously reported, the royal couple had their first public outing as a new family earlier Wednesday before taking baby Archie to meet the Queen.

“It’s magic,” Markle told media at the press conference. “It’s pretty amazing. I have the two best guys in the world, so I’m really happy. He has the sweetest temperament. He’s really calm. It’s been a special couple of days.”

“Parenting is amazing. It’s only been, what, two and a half days, three days, but we’re just so thrilled to have our own little bundle of joy, and to be able to spend some special time with him as he slowly starts to grow up,” Prince Harry added.

Markle reportedly gave birth to baby Archie in the early hours Monday morning. He weighed in at 7 pounds, 3 ounces.
