Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott is pulling off a great move for the family of Jaylon Mckenzie.

According to ESPN, Elliott will pay for the funeral of McKenzie, who was a rising football star killed by a stray bullet this past weekend in St. Louis. McKenzie was only in eighth grade.

I know there’s plenty of things to rag about when it comes the the NFL and players in league. It seems like we get new stories everyday about stupid stuff that’s happening, and we don’t hear about as much of the great stuff as we should. There was no need for the Cowboys star, who is also from St. Louis, to do this, but he did. It’s the definition of an awesome movie, and we should all applaud him for the kind gesture.

If we’re going to criticize the league and players in the league, then it’s also important to shine a light on guys doing great things in the community.

Obviously, Elliott paying for the funeral of the young man won’t heal his family’s pain, but it’s still an incredible gesture from one of the best players in the league.

Major props to Elliott for opening up his wallet for the Mckenzie family. The NFL could certainly use a few more guys leading by example, and that’s exactly what Elliott has done here.

Well done, Zeke. Well done.
