Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield finally did something I agree with.
In response to a school doing away with the term valedictorian, the young NFL star tweeted, “This is so dumb. You’re telling me competition doesn’t bring out the best in people? If you want something bad enough, work for it. People are too soft.”

Did I just actually find myself agreeing with Mayfield? What a wild world to be living in. I usually come on here and rip him on a regular basis, and now I’m tipping my cap to him.
Props to me for being willing to admit when somebody is correct, even if I regularly disagree with them.

It’s just going to make people weak and unprepared for what happens in life. Despite all of Mayfield’s shortcomings, I literally couldn’t agree more with him.
This is the kind of action we should see more out of Mayfield. Forget the childish behavior and do more to remind people the importance of competition.
That’s what I want to see out of an NFL quarterback. I don’t want to see all the dumb antics and stupid behavior. I just want to see the heart of a champion and the spirit to compete.
I didn’t expect to wake up today agreeing with Mayfield, but here we are.
