Quarterback Dwayne Haskins sounds ready to take on whatever comes his way this season with the Washington Redskins.

Haskins, who was selected 15th over all the 2019 draft, recently told ESPN the following after the Redskins mini-camp:

My goal is to be the best quarterback, best person, best leader that I can be for the team, whether that’s playing or learning from whoever is in front of me or whoever is on the team. I’m just looking forward to the opportunity to learn from the older guys, learn from the vets, take everything in, be a sponge and be ready for game one.

You can see his full comments below.

Haskins sounds mature beyond his years, and I really think there’s a good chance he exceeds expectations as a rookie. (RELATED: Washington Redskins Will Let Dwayne Haskins Compete For The Starting Job)

Yes, I understand the fact he only played one season at Ohio State, but he absolutely torched defenses. The man has a cannon attached to the right side of his body.

Given the fact he’s competing against Case Keenum and Colt McCoy, I think there’s a high chance we see Haskins on the field sooner than later.

The Redskins aren’t exactly competing for a Super Bowl right now, and there’s no reason to sit Haskins on the bench, especially when you look at the other quarterback options.

Let him get out there and spin it.

Again, I know there are some people who aren’t overly high on Haskins, but I like a ton about him. He’s got a monster arm and he’s got a great head on shoulders.

That’s usually a great combination in the NFL.
