The annual NBA draft lottery has come and gone and the results were stunning.

The New Orleans Pelicans won the number one overall pick in the 2019 NBA draft on Tuesday, and will almost certainly use that pick on Duke phenom Zion Williamson. (RELATED: WATCH: Zion Williamson Throws Down Incredible Dunk)

The results were shocking. The Cleveland Cavaliers and Phoenix Suns both finished 19-63, but neither ended up with a top three pick. Meanwhile, the New York Knicks’ continue to suffer historically bad luck. Despite having the worst record in the league this past year at 17-65, New York was only awarded the third overall pick. Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Lakers surprisingly finished with the fourth overall pick, adding a little bit of a bright spot to what has been a disastrous off-season for LeBron James and company.

The NBA draft lottery is one of the most exciting events in sports, and this year may have been the most dramatic ever.

It appears clear that Zion will be the number one overall pick, but after that, it’s anybody’s guess.
