Democratic Michigan Rep. Rashida Tlaib was quick to capitalize on concerns voiced by Republican Michigan Rep. Justin Amash, claiming that they should cosponsor an impeachment resolution.
“@justinamash come find me in 1628 Longworth. I’ve got an impeachment investigation resolution you’re going to want to cosponsor,” Tlaib tweeted. (GOP House Lawmaker: ‘Trump Has Engaged In impeachable Conduct’)

Tlaib was responding to a lengthy thread from Amash in which he laid out a case for the possible impeachment of President Donald Trump.
Here are my principal conclusions:
1. Attorney General Barr has deliberately misrepresented Mueller’s report.
2. President Trump has engaged in impeachable conduct.
3. Partisanship has eroded our system of checks and balances.
4. Few members of Congress have read the report.— Justin Amash (@justinamash) May 18, 2019
Amash argued that the president had engaged in “impeachable conduct” but also noted that impeachment was a “special kind of indictment” that didn’t actually require a crime to have been committed.
While impeachment should be undertaken only in extraordinary circumstances, the risk we face in an environment of extreme partisanship is not that Congress will employ it as a remedy too often but rather that Congress will employ it so rarely that it cannot deter misconduct.

Amash’s office did not respond to requests for comment. The Michigan lawmaker has given no indication whether he would draft or cosponsor any impeachment resolution.
