Democratic Washington Gov. Jay Inslee said Wednesday at the Democratic presidential debates that no insurance company should have the ability to deny women an abortion.

The Washington governor took aim at Christian charities that refuse to provide abortion services due to religious beliefs, saying that insurance companies should not be allowed to deny women abortions.

“It should not be an option in the United States of America for any insurance company to deny a woman coverage for their exercise of their of choice right,” Inslee said Wednesday.

Inslee added that he is the only candidate who has passed a law protecting women’s abortion rights. (RELATED: These 2020 Dems Voted To Renew The Hyde Amendment After Vowing To Repeal It)

“I am the only candidate who has passed a law protecting a woman’s right of reproductive health and health insurance, and I am the only candidate who has passed a public option,” Inslee said.

“We’ve got to have access for everyone,” Inslee added.
