Charlie Kirk, founder and executive director of Turning Point USA, announced on Tuesday the acquisition of Students for Trump in order to enlist 1 million student voters to support Donald Trump in the 2020 election.

Students for Trump is a project and expansion of Turning Point Action, a 501(c)(4) sister organization to Turning Point USA, the nation’s “largest and fastest growing student organization.”

The GOTV campaign will target universities and use local Students for Trump chapters as the backbone. The organization will also hold large scale events and rallies starting with the official “Launch Party” in Las Vegas on August 23. Students for Trump was originally started during the 2016 election season by Ryan Fournier, former chairman of the organization. Fournier will remain co-chairman while Kirk takes over as chairman.

The campaign will have a budget of 15 million and will have 150 staffers. (RELATED: Conservative Activist Gets Punched In The Face At Turning Point USA Event At UC Berkeley)

Kirk told Fox News “this is the most aggressive voter identification GOTV program targeting students on college campuses for a Republican president ever.”

“It’s no question that freedom is on the ballot in 2020. I’ve spent the last six years traveling the country and speaking to young voters. Millennials and Generation Z want to run their own lives and make their own money,” Kirk said in the press release.

“We’re proud to be at the forefront of the youth movement to re-elect freedom in 2020 by adding one million new voters to support four more years of President Trump,” Kirk added.
