Jennifer Lopez got very candid about her relationship with fiance Alex Rodriguez and opened up about the reason she almost turned down a stripper role in “Hustlers.”

“He [Rodriguez] loves being at every show that he can be at,” the 50-year-old actress shared during her cover story for Variety magazine in a piece published Monday. (RELATED: Celebrate Anna Kendrick’s Birthday With Her Hottest Looks [SLIDESHOW])

Lopez continued, “And there were times my personal life was stable, but my career was not great.  This is the first time where I have a really beautiful alignment between the two. As previously reported, the All-Star baseball player surprised the hit singer during a trip to the Bahamas earlier this year when he got down on one knee and popped the question after the two had been dating for the last few years.

At one point in the lengthy piece, the “Jenny From The Block” hitmaker credited the “turning point” in her career with taking the job as a judge on “American Idol” in 2011, something many told her might ruin her chances of getting  movie roles.

“And I was like, ‘The truth is, I’m not getting offered a whole bunch of movies, so what are they not going to offer me,'” Lopez said.

Later, she admitted that when she was recently offered to play the ringleader in a story about the ladies of a New York strip club that take down men of Wall Street during the 2008 financial crisis she almost turned it down because it meant she’d have to perform in a g-string.

“Inspired by the viral New York Magazine article, Hustlers follows a crew of savvy former strip club employees who band together to turn the tables on their Wall Street clients,” according to the description on IMDb.

“I was terrified,” the “Selena” star shared. “I felt exposed. I was like, ‘I’ve never done anything like this. I’m going to be up there in f—ing dental floss.'”

“What is this,” she added. “Who is this person?’ And then you get up there, and you have to have a ‘f— you,’ empowered attitude. You have to take your power back.”
