New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady isn’t a fan of people who are overly critical on social media.

Given the fact we live in 2019, virtually everything you do is open to scrutiny. It’s one of the things Dave Chappelle tore to shreds in his latest special. Turns out, Tom Brady is right there with him when it comes to people freaking out about what happens online. Brady said the following in part during a Monday appearance on The Greg Hill Show, according to Mike Reiss (transcription via BroBible):

I don’t think anybody is perfect. I think it’s a little unfortunate in the world today, the expectations are perfection for people. And then when we’re less than that, there’s so much blame and shame. I think that’s a hard thing about our culture today. We’re almost asking people to be inhuman. There’s nothing you can do without the utmost scrutiny and everyone wants to see everyone raked over the coals.

I couldn’t agree more with Brady if I tried. The amount of effort and time people put into crawling social media for reasons to be outraged is truly astonishing.

Instead of just living life and having a good time, the outrage mob just never slows down. They’re constantly fired up, and the reasons why are rarely justified.

Now, put yourself in Tom Brady’s shoes and multiply everything your average person goes through online by about a billion.

The man has six Super Bowl rings and has won an absurd amount of football games during his NFL career. He lives under a microscope most people couldn’t ever even begin to imagine.

He’s also handled it with extreme class, and hasn’t had any slip ups along the way. Given how long he’s been famous for, that’s incredibly impressive.

Props to Brady for having such a refreshing take in our current era of perpetual outrage. It’s nice to see somebody out there is still rational and logical.
