Wine in a can is now a thing

Is that bottle of red wine a little too fancy for your next get-together? Have you ever sipped Pinot Gris out of a glass and thought to yourself, Wow, this would really taste better if it weren’t so damn classy? And, come on, who hasn’t been turned off by drinking wine because of that pesky wine opener?!

Well, you’re in luck! Because now wine in a can is a real thing and not just something The Gang came up with on “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” The Drinks Business reports.

Next year, Oregon winery Union Wine Company will start selling its Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris in aluminum cans, à la Miller Lite.

“We want to be a part of everyday celebrations. These wines are more about immediacy, and the can is an extension of that thinking,” winery owner Ryan Harms told the site.

Now it will be much easier for redneck oenophiles to sneak wine into movie theaters, public parks and college football games.
