Speaker of the House John Boehner called Russian president Vladimir Putin a “thug,” in an interview with the Cincinnati paper The Enquirer.
As the standoff with Russian troops in the Ukraine continues, Boehner called for sanctions against Russia.
“It’s time to stand up to Putin,” he said.
“At what point do you say enough is enough?” he went on. “We are at that point.”
