If the opinion of 17 viewers count, things are not looking good for Fox 5 investigative reporter Emily Miller‘s plight to land the conservative spot on ABC’s “The View.” Those, at least publicly, in the running include Sen. John McCain‘s (R-Ariz.) daughter, Meghan McCain, CNN’s S.E. Cupp and Miller.
On Tuesday, ‘The View’ asked viewers on its Twitter feed to RT if they were excited to see Miller back on the show. (There she is above in her gorgeous dressing room.)
By and large, they refused the opportunity to retweet the sentiment, with a variety of harsh thoughts tossed in for good measure. Of course, the Twittersphere even on a good day is hardly ever gentle. They called her everything from an “idiot” and a “stupid bitch” to “rude” and “offensive.”
She is, however, making inroads with at least one fellow host — Jenny McCarthy. Unfortunately for her, McCarthy is on her way off the show. “I have such a girl crush on her,” Emily tweet-gushed. McCarthy replied, “Ditto mama. Can’t wait to dance again!” She also has an admirer in the National Right to Life Committee’s communications department, who tweeted, “Watching our friend, Emily Miller, rock it as guest-host on The View.”
To be sure, Miller, known for her gun rights activism, has a fierce Twitter following (46.6 K followers) and lots of fans in Washington for her remarkable climb in journalism over the past several years.
Wednesday’s show will once again feature Cupp — will she fare any better than McCain?
