Between travelling with the Charlotte Hornets, racking up wins at Pro-am golf tournaments and trying to smoke every last cigar on the planet, Michael Jordan is an extremely busy man.

In fact, MJ’s so busy these days, that the greatest player in NBA history — yeah, suck it LeBron — doesn’t even have time to spell-check his autographs.

For example, former-Obama-adviser David Axelrod sat down with New York Magazine and told them a head-scratching story involving Jordan, President Obama and one extra “r.”

When the president turned 50, I wanted to get him something special … so I sent it to Jordan to have him sign it for me. In black Sharpie, Jordan scrawled, ‘To Barrack: you still owe me dinner. Wishing you well, Michael Jordan.’

I gave it to the president, and he said, ‘I can’t put this up, he misspelled my name!’ So I said, ‘Fine, I’ll take it.’

“Barack Obama” is basically the most recognized man in the world, but in this case, I like to think Michael’s typo came out of apathy, rather than ignorance. I mean, the man won six NBA championships. He can do anything he wants out there.

On a side note, how big of a Bulls fan can Barry really be if he passes on signed Jordan memorabilia? If I had a napkin saying “Hey Datoc… FUCK… YOU! From: His Airness,” I’d wear it like a badge of honor.
