The first game of Saturday’s doubleheader between the Arkansas Razorbacks and the Vanderbilt Commodores featured a healthy dose of extra innings insanity.

In the bottom of the 10th inning, Vanderbilt first baseman Zander Wiel popped out to foul territory in right field. Vanderbilt’s Ro Coleman, who was on third base, tried to tag up for the winning run. Arkansas outfielder Tyler Spoon came up firing, and well, you can see the rest for yourself.

Ah, the old 9-2-1 put-out at the plate. You certainly don’t see that one every day. Let’s conveniently ignore the fact that Coleman should have been ruled out the second he ventured outside the home plate circle.

Vanderbilt went on to win the game 8-7 in 12 innings.
