CNN political reporter Jeff Zeleny remarked Tuesday that Hillary Clinton’s “shine has tarnished” after new polling shows her unfavorables have dipped significantly since her presidential launch.

Appearing on “New Day” with co-host Alisyn Camerota, Zeleny argued that the various “controversies” over the past few months are causing “perception problems” with voters.

“Hillary Clinton’s shine has tarnished a little bit two months after she entered the presidential race,” Zeleny started off before launching into the poll numbers.

According to the latest CNN/ORC poll, Clinton’s unfavorable rating stand at 50 percent, higher than anytime since 2001. In addition, only 42 percent of those polled say Clinton is “honest and trustworthy,” which is down eight points since March.

“It appears some of those early controversies are causing perception problems for her,” Zeleny told the host. “Certainly bringing her back from those high approval ratings during her eight years out of politics.”
