CNN senior political correspondent Jeff Zeleny has an air of smartness to him

So it was unfortunate to see his intelligence marred by the chyron below his TV spot earlier in the week, when CNN confused “sows” for “sews.”

The differences between the words are quite stark. Sews — think sewing machine and pincushions. Sows, on the other hand, means to “plant a seed,” disseminate or broadcast.

At one point CNN’s chyron writer swapped out “sews” for “sows.”

But sadly in the next screen, it was back to “sews.”
