New York City Police Commissioner Bill Bratton told host Chuck Todd that he is more concerned with the “thousands of people” on the Terrorist Watch List that can “purchase firearms in this country” than he is with any possible threat posed by Syrian refugees during NBC’s Sunday broadcast of “Meet the Press.”

BRATTON: I’d like to go back to one of the earlier comments about Congress. Congress really wants to do something instead of just talking about something. Help us out with that Terrorist Watch List, those thousands of people that can purchase firearms in this country, I’m more worried about them than I am about Syrian refugees, to be quite frank with you. So if Congress really wants to do something to help the American law enforcement community and the American public, well, let’s start getting serious about doing something that they can actually do something about.
