Michigan State got the playoffs after going 12-1 and winning the Big Ten championship. Alabama opened 9.5 point favorites, but the Crimson Tide haven’t had a great record against Big 10 opponents recently. Last year, Alabama was defeated by Ohio State in the semi-finals.
