Willie Nelson gave a touching tribute to his dear friend Merle Haggard after he died Wednesday.

“He was my brother, my friend,” Nelson wrote. “I will miss him.”

The two country music legends often toured together, and they even had upcoming tour dates, but Haggard canceled them last week after he became sick. (RELATED: Merle Haggard Dies At 79)
