Microsoft apologized Wednesday for sending out a gauche email inviting interns to a company-sponsored party.

The tech giant opened the email “Hey Bae Intern! <3” and then offered “lots of dranks” and the opportunity to “get lit on a Monday night.” If any intern was not enticed, the software company made sure to elaborate that the imbibing activities included beer pong. And no need to worry about boozing on an empty stomach, “hella noms” would be available too.
The tech company was previously forced to apologize earlier this year after a chatbot produced racist and weirdly deplorable tweets. Around the same time, Microsoft expressed regret after an Xbox promotional event featured scantily-clad female dancers.
Extremely disappointed @Microsoft and @Xbox hired women wearing these outfits to perform at @gdc. PLEASE RT. pic.twitter.com/JYFTTGdzQk

Microsoft’s apology for the most recent misstep came only hours after the invites were sent out. “The email was poorly worded and not in keeping with our values as a company,” the apology read, according to The Seattle Times.
Officials promised an investigation in order to get to the bottom of this clumsy blunder.
