Hillary Clinton’s campaign sent out an email Tuesday morning bemoaning Trump’s recent leap in the polls and asking for money to help retake the lead.

The email’s subject line reads, “Trump 44, Clinton 39,” apparently referring to a new CNN/ORC poll that has Trump beating Clinton with 44 percent of the vote when third-part candidates Gary Johnson and Jill Stein are included. The poll marks a six point “bounce” for Trump after the Republican National Convention.

“As always, I’m going to tell you not to focus too much on one poll,” the Clinton email reads. “But I’m pointing this out because it’s part of a broader trend. Poll after poll is showing that Trump has been eating away at our lead, and after his convention, he’s erased it entirely.”

Trump has independents to thank for much of his poll jump. Before the RNC, Trump only had 31 percent of independents, according to the CNN/ORC poll. Now, he has 46 percent. Meanwhile, Clinton can only claim 28 percent.

Clinton’s email does point out that the boost in Trump’s numbers comes right after the RNC, which is not uncommon for presidential candidates.

“We need to let people know what we stand for, and we need to solidify the organization that can get them to the polls come November,” the email reads. “With the polls leaning in the wrong direction, your contribution has never been more critical.”
