Jared Kushner believes President-elect Donald Trump successfully pulled from both parties’ ideologies, according to a Tuesday interview with Forbes.

“People in the political world try to put you into different buckets based on what exists. I think Trump’s creating his own bucket–a blend of what works and eliminating what doesn’t work,” Trump’s son-in-law told reporters. The interview will go to print in the December edition of the magazine.

Kushner played coy with his own political views, adding that his official party affiliation was “To be determined. I haven’t made a decision. Things are still evolving as they go. There’s some aspects of the Democrat Party that didn’t speak to me, and there are some aspects of the Republican Party that didn’t speak to me.”

Kushner said he supports Trump despite all of the negative things people are saying because of the “evidence” he has collected in his years-long relationship with Trump.

“I just know a lot of the things that people try to attack him with are just not true or overblown or exaggerations. I know his character. I know who he is, and I obviously would not have supported him if I thought otherwise. If the country gives him a chance, they’ll find he won’t tolerate hateful rhetoric or behavior,” Kushner told Forbes.

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s demotion in the transition team was rumored by the press to be a decision from Kushner himself, possibly in retaliation to Christie’s successful prosecution of Kushner’s father.

Christie, Kushner and the Trump campaign all denied those rumors.

“I assume he’ll be in the White House throughout the entire presidency,” News Corp. billionaire Rupert Murdoch told Forbes. “For the next four or eight years he’ll be a strong voice, maybe even the strongest after the vice president.” There are currently laws forbidding relatives from occupying sports in the administration.
