Michael Vick, who’s a controversial quarterback in his own right, has some advice for Colin Kaepernick on getting back into the good graces of NFL owners after his national anthem protest last season.
The former NFL quarterback joined “Speak For Yourself” on Fox Sports on Monday where he addressed Kaepernick’s situation and explained how he believes the controversial QB can get back on track.

“First thing we gotta get Colin to do is cut his hair,” Vick said. “Listen, I’m not up here trying to be politically correct,” the former NFL star said. “Just go clean cut, you know, why not?”
“You’re already dealing with a lot–a lot of controversy surrounding this issue and the most important thing that he needs to do is just try to be presentable,” Vick said.
Obviously there’s more going on with Kaepernick besides his hair, though. Vick vaguely touched on the controversy surrounding the former San Francisco quarterback’s protest before saying that Kaepernick’s main problem is his production on the football field.
“The reason he’s not playing has nothing to do with the national anthem, I think it’s more solely on his play,” Vick continued. “Everything takes precedent in terms of image, perception–you know, you gotta clean it up, you gotta make sure you do it all right.”
Comedian Marlon Wayans didn’t exactly agree with Vick’s makeover advice, but echoed his belief that Kaepernick’s play is the main reason he’s not on an NFL roster right now.
“You can’t kneel AND throw interceptions!” Wayans told TMZ. “You ain’t gonna score? You ain’t gonna have them yards? You better stand up and pledge allegiance, sir!”
