CNN sent a tweet on Sunday asserting that “25 people and an unborn child” were killed in the Texas church shooting, angering Twitter users.
Law enforcement officials have put the official body count at 26 because one of the slain churchgoers was pregnant. CNN decided to separate the unborn child from the death count, instead putting it at 25 plus the child.

“The shooter killed 25 people and an unborn child,” CNN said in an accompanying article.
Twitter went after CNN immediately for not writing “26,” with nearly every response referencing the error.
26.

Pretty disgusting how the police report says 26 and you only say 25. You’ve clearly applied a political agenda to this title.

The official count is 26 dead. The authorities put the count at 26. Have respect for the dead. All of them. Please.

So @CNN tacitly acknowledges that the unborn is a “child” and yet they can’t get themselves to acknowledge that 26 were killed in the recent Texas Church shooting.
These people will do anything to protect abortion rights. But #FactsFirst right? https://t.co/qaBKD6Eyyw
