In 2016, The National Enquirer published a story saying Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia was murdered by a hooker. So why should anyone be surprised that the tabloid is trying to spread the rumor that NBC’s Hoda Kotb is being scrapped for the fourth hour of the ‘TODAY’ Show?

In a newly published story Wednesday, the Enquirer has a reader survey on who will replace Kotb in her longtime role as Kathie Lee Gifford‘s wine-guzzling sidekick. This came on the heels of Kotb being named co-anchor of the “TODAY” Show after the network handled its Matt Lauer sexual harassment problem by firing him.

“Who’ll Join ‘Today’ With Kathie Lee Gifford?” blared the Enquirer.

The real answer is Hoda Kotb. She’s not going anywhere.

The tab continued its idiocy, writing, “Hoda Kotb saved ‘Today’ after longtime host Matt Lauer was fired over a series of sick sex scandals! Now she’s been rewarded by joining Savannah Guthrie to start the show every morning. That still leaves her longtime co-host Kathie Lee Gifford flying solo at the 10 a.m. hour. Who do you want to see sitting down with Kathie Lee every morning?”

The Enquirer continues the fake news story with a survey readers can take to decide who will replace Kotb, who will not be replaced. The possibilities include: Billy Bush, Kelly Clarkson, Regis Philbin, Tamron Hall, Andy Cohen, Craig Ferguson, Jenna Bush Hager and Neil Patrick Harris.

In a NBC release issued Tuesday, the network is clear that Kotb is not being replaced and will continue in her role alongside Gifford.

“Kotb is a familiar face with ‘Today’ viewers, co-hosting the fourth hour of the show with Kathie Lee Gifford since 2008. Lack said she would continue in that role,” wrote NBC News.

Kathie Lee is all gaga for Hoda. “I feel happy for her because she is having the greatest year of her life, and if she’s happy, I’m happy for her,” she told People Mag.
