CNN political contributor Paul Begala accused President Donald Trump of being an autocrat that “murders truth” during a Wednesday interview.

Begala pointed to The Washington Post’s assertion that Trump has lied over 2,000 times since he has been in office.
“I think he’s already distinguished himself as a liar,” Begala said of Trump. “Donald Trump murders truth.”
Begala also defended Republican Senator Jeff Flake’s comparison of Trump to dictators like Stalin and Duterte, arguing that Trump is in fact an autocrat who only wants to amass power.
“He doesn’t only attack the press, he calls federal judges ‘so-called judges’ and attacks them because they are a check on his power, he’s said the FBI is in tatters because they’re investigating him, the CIA is like the gestapo,” Begala asserted. “He attacks any check on his power because he would like to be like Duterte, Assad, Putin, Stalin — that is his goal, he’s an autocrat.”
