Lena Dunham has taken to Twitter to remove herself from the list of celebrities who may have bitten Beyonce Knowles-Carter at a party. The ‘Girls’ alum admitted that it was certainly something she would do, but insisted that  — at least in this case — she didn’t.

Comedian Tiffany Haddish kicked off the controversy by alleging in a GQ interview that an as yet unnamed actress had bitten Beyonce at a party.

“Near the end of the party,” says Haddish, describing her final run-in with Mrs. Carter sometime later, “Beyoncé’s at the bar, so I said to Beyoncé, ‘Did she really bite you?’ She was like, ‘Yeah.’ I was like, ‘She gonna get her ass beat tonight.’ She was like, ‘Tiffany, no. Don’t do that. That bitch is on drugs. She not even drunk. The bitch is on drugs. She not like that all the time. Just chill.’ ”

The social media storm that followed led famed bookmaker Paddy Power to lay out the odds-on favorites. Dunham topped that list with 2:1 odds, closely followed by actress Sanaa Lathan (7:2). Lathan has also denied being the culprit.

Actress and model Chrissy Teigen also denied involvement, although she admitted to double checking with her husband first.

Teigen later hinted that she might know who did it, but refused to spill the information even when pressed by Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford on Tuesday’s ‘The Today Show.’ She followed that appearance with the admission that it wasn’t who she had originally thought.

Gwyneth Paltrow also made the bookmaker’s list with 6:1 odds, followed by Scarlet Johannson (8:1), Jennifer Lawrence (16:1) and Lindsay Lohan (40:1).
