North Dakotan Democratic Senator Heidi Heitkamp said she is proud to have a record of voting across party lines in a campaign ad she released on Tuesday.
“I voted over half the time with President Trump,” Heitkamp said in the ad. “When I agree with him, I vote with him.”
“I’m not a rubber stamp for anybody, I only answer to [North Dakotans],” she later added.
I worked with my Republican colleague from Alaska to lift the decades-old ban on crude oil exports & now, our energy economy is thriving. President Trump also signed into law my bill to help pave a viable path forward for coal & to protect the environment for future generations.

Heitkamp was elected to her first term in the Senate back in 2012. She is going up against Rep. Kevin Cramer.
Heitkamp is currently battling to maintain her seat in the Senate in a state that went heavily red during the 2016 presidential election. President Trump obtained nearly 65 percent of the votes.
