The Muslim student group at the University of Virginia (UVA) published a statement Tuesday saying “no one is illegal, no one is a terrorist.”

UVA’s Muslim Students Association made the remark on Facebook as part of a response to the Supreme Court’s decision to uphold President Donald Trump’s travel ban on Tuesday.

“We want to send our community a reminder that no one is illegal, no one is a terrorist, and no one is alone,” the student group stated. “The current Administration has begun to normalize discrimination, hate, bigotry, and fear and we must continue to uphold and protect our values and rights as a community.”

The Supreme Court ruled 5-4 to uphold Trump’s travel ban enacting travel penalties against eight nations with inadequate vetting and information-sharing standards. (RELATED: Supremes Deal Victory For Trump, Uphold Travel Ban)

UVA’s Muslim Students Association acknowledged the Supreme Court upheld the ban, but prioritized blaming the president.

“We the world’s melting pot and a model nation built on the backs of immigrants cannot stand for such a policy,” the group said. “President Trump continues to use his far-reaching powers in the realm of immigration to incite fear, hate-mongering, and bigotry against targeted groups of people rather than bringing about positive change.”

The Muslim Students Association did not respond to The Daily Caller News Foundation immediately to a request for comment.
