Tuesday marks the two-year anniversary of Ken Bone’s meteoric rise into the public sphere when he asked a question a question about energy policy to presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump.

With his mustache, bright red sweater and outstanding name, Bone became an internet celebrity instantaneously.

Two years later, though, he’s back and wants to help get the hatred out of politics. Bone says that society needs to learn how to use empathy through social media because people are willing to post things that they’d never be willing to say face-to-face.

“It’s almost impossible to generate empathy for another person when all they are is pixels on a screen,” he said.

Coincidentally, Bone’s comments about bringing the two political parties together comes on the same day that Hillary Clinton said that one cannot be expected to maintain civility when a political party “wants to destroy what you stand for, what you care about.” (RELATED: Hillary Clinton Rejects Calls For Civility In Politics, At Least For Now)
