The Alliance Of American Football Looks Like It Will Be A Success

David Hookstead | Reporter

The Alliance of American football got off to a great start over the weekend.

There has been tons of speculation about whether or not the AAF would get off the ground. Judging from what I saw Saturday night and Sunday, I think it’s safe to say the eight-team league will be just fine.

The key for any sports league to survive is putting a good product on the league. If consumers get a good product, then there’s a really good chance people will remain interested.

The AAF features plenty of guys with NFL experience and household names for college football fans, such as Christian Hackenberg.

I was pleasantly surprised by the level of play. Sure, it’s the minor league, and it’s not the NFL. That’s obvious, but these teams are still really good. (RELATED: San Diego Fleet Quarterback Mike Bercovici Suffers Brutal Hit During AAF Opener)

If I had to guess, I’d say that an AAF team would have no problem beating a major college program.

There were also games broadcast on CBS. Again, getting exposure so people recognize the level of play is another major key for success.

With a high level of play and enough exposure, there’s a very good chance the AAF succeeds.

If you haven’t already given the league a chance, I suggest that you do. You can find a full list of games here.
