“The View” host Meghan McCain was gunning for President Donald Trump on Monday’s episode, claiming that her late father was “his kryptonite” in both life and death.

Co-host Joy Behar kicked off the segment with an attack of her own, calling Trump “pathetic” and referencing tweets he posted over the weekend criticizing the late Republican Arizona Sen. John McCain.

“He tweeted against John McCain, who passed away, unfortunately, not that long ago,” Behar began. “It’s kind of a pathetic statement on his part because when John McCain was getting the silver star, Trump was at his doctor’s trying to get out of the draft with these alleged bone spurs …”

Sunny Hostin encouraged McCain, saying that the way she had handled the attacks was admirable and “the right way.”

After thanking her co-hosts for their support, McCain turned full force against the president. (RELATED: ‘My Father Lives Rent Free In Your Head’: Meghan McCain Spars With Trump)

He spends his weekend obsessing over wonderful great men because he knows it and I know it, he will never be a great man. My father was his kryptonite in life and his kryptonite in death . . . . And I just thought, ‘Your life is spent on weekends not with your family, not with your friends, but obsessing, obsessing, over great men you could never live up to.’ That tells you everything you needed to know about his pathetic life.

McCain concluded by saying, “I genuinely feel bad for his family.”
