Ohio State football coach Ryan Day didn’t name a starter following the conclusion of his team’s spring work.

Justin Fields transferred in from Georgia, and is widely viewed as the man who will be under center when the Buckeyes take the field week one of the 2019 season. Matthew Baldwin is the man competing with Fields for the starting job, and we won’t get an answer for a long time. (RELATED: Justin Fields Talks About The Ohio State Vs. Michigan Rivalry)

“I don’t think right now that we’re going to make a decision on that. I think it’ll continue through the preseason,” Day told the media the following OSU’s spring game Saturday, according to Eleven Warriors.

He also added, “I think that they both did a good job today. They both flashed at times. Still a work in progress. We still got work to do. But I thought that they gave some of the receivers a chance.”

I love when there’s a clear starter, and then we all pretend like that guy’s not going to be taking the snaps.

The same thing happened when Russell Wilson transferred to Wisconsin. The coaches were talking like there was a real QB battle, and everybody with eyes and functioning brain knew the future Seahawks star was going to be slinging it for the Badgers.

Fields didn’t transfer in from the Bulldogs to ride the pine for the Buckeyes. He just didn’t, and I’m not going to entertain the idea that he did.

Give me a break. I might have been born at night, but it wasn’t last night. Fields is going to be throwing and running it all over the field for Ryan Day’s team.

You can take that to the bank, and I think OSU will be as solid as ever this upcoming season.
