DC Defenders quarterback Cardale Jones found himself glued to the bench during a 15-6 Sunday win over the St. Louis BattleHawks.

Jones, who is widely-viewed as the face of the league, was yanked after several poor performances in favor of Tyree Jackson. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

Jackson eventually did enough to get the win for the Defenders.

This is such a bad look for Cardale Jones. He set the league on fire the first couple weeks, and then immediately dropped off of a cliff.

Jones is supposed to be the biggest name in the league. After all, he’s the man who led Ohio State to a national title, and he has a ton of name recognition.

The XFL needs big time quarterback draw in order to be a success. Jones was supposed to be the biggest get of them all.

Now, the Defenders are at the halfway point of the season, and Jones as been replaced by Jackson. I can’t imagine this is how Oliver Luck saw this situation unfolding.

Despite his pathetic play these past few weeks, the XFL absolutely wants Jones to succeed. It’s hard to do that when you’re not even starting.

We’ll see if he can work his way back into the starting lineup or if Tyree Jackson is about to be the new star of the XFL!
