“The Morning Show” with Jennifer Aniston isn’t too bad.

After a friend recommended it to me, I decided to dive in and find out what all the hype was about for the Apple TV+ series. After all, it’s hard not to be interested in a show that includes Aniston and Steve Carell. (REVIEW: ‘Westworld’ Season 3 Ends With The Possible Deaths Of Multiple Characters)

As a huge fan of “The Office,” there was no chance I was saying no.

The plot is relatively simple. Carell plays a high-power TV host who gets fired during the #MeToo movement after having sexual relations with some low level staffers.

It’s nothing at all like the Weinstein situation, and that’s done on purpose. Even after one episode, it’s clear the entire show is about where the line should be drawn and not whether or not he did something terrible.

Aniston plays the main host, and Reese Witherspoon appears to be the likely replacement for Carell. Overall, it’s not too bad.

Granted, I’m one episode in, but I like it. Whenever you’re dealing with a show about the #MeToo movement, you always wonder if it’s going to be preachy or if it’s going to be entertaining.

One episode in and there’s zero preachiness of any kind. In fact, it’s the opposite. Again, Carell’s character Mitch Kessler isn’t a monster. That’s made crystal clear, but he’s still been ousted for the decisions he made.

If you’re looking for something to watch that mirrors real life and the current times, it might be worth it to check out “The Morning Show” with Jennifer Aniston and Steve Carell.
