Goalie Henrik Lundqvist is back on the ice after having open heart surgery.
Lundqvist had open heart surgery in early January to correct a heart condition, and he’s now started the process of getting back into playing shape. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

The legendary goalie, who is currently under contract with the Capitals, tweeted a video Tuesday of him out on the ice and back in the net practicing. Give it a watch below.

This is an awesome update. Nobody wants to see anyone struggle with health issues, and that’s especially true when it comes to star athletes.
Henrik Lundqvist is one of the best goalies in the history of hockey, and his career came to an abrupt stop after his heart condition was discovered.

Now, we’re winding down February and he’s back on the ice getting some reps in. Does that mean he’ll be playing again anytime soon? Probably not, but it’s the first step in his return journey.

Hopefully, he’s back on the ice as soon as possible because he’s a hell of a player, and you hate to see guys like that put on the bench for health reasons.
