Back in 1971 shortly after the couple married, they bought a can of Banquet while in Colorado and planned to drink it on their 50-year anniversary.

Unfortunately, Ed passed away in July 2016 after a fight with lung cancer. Roughly five years later, Diane cracked open the beer.

“I thought it was very tasty. I was surprised. I thought it would be full of crap, but it was good,” Diane explained.

Is it just me or is it super dusty in here right now? Please excuse me while I go wipe away some tears. Damn, that video hit me right in the heart.

As I’ve said too many times to count, death is never easy. It’s always hard, and I can only imagine how hard it must be to lose your spouse to cancer.

Drinking a Coors Banquet that is half a century old to honor Ed’s memory and legacy seems like one hell of an awesome way to bring back some memories.

The fact that the beer tasted so great 50 years after it was bought is just the cherry on top to really warm your heart.

Props to Diane for the very touching moment. I think I speak for everyone when I say it made us smile.
