Police are investigating a “suspicious” fire that broke out Friday morning at a pro-life pregnancy resource center in Gresham, Oregon.

A Gresham Fire Department spokesperson told KGW8 News that the flames did not spread beyond one room in the center and that the damage was likely repairable. (RELATED: ‘Sadness Turned To Strength’: DC Pregnancy Center Condemns Pro-Abortion Vandals After Attack)

“The fire is being jointly investigated by Gresham Fire Department, Gresham Police Department, the FBI, and ATF,” a City of Gresham spokeswoman told the Daily Caller.

“At this time, the fire is considered suspicious. Evidence was collected at the scene, as they do in any fire investigation, and is being processed. We expect to have more information when that process is completed,” the spokeswoman said.

The Gresham pregnancy center is one of three locations run by First Image in Oregon. The center provides alternatives to abortion, “where moms, dads, and pre-born children are so well-loved that abortion never feels like the best or only option and that they experience truly abundant life,” according to the center’s website.

“Our Gresham Pregnancy Resource Center was set on fire this morning at about 3 am,” First Image’s Gresham location wrote on Facebook. “From initial investigations by Police and Fire authorities, it appears an incendiary device was thrown through a window.”

“There were no messages left behind, and at this point, we do not know who committed this crime,” the center said in the Friday Facebook post.

After the leak of the Supreme Court opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization signaled that the justices on the Court could overturn the decision in Roe v. Wade, pro-life pregnancy care centers have seen an uptick in violent attacks on their locations. Three pregnancy care centers have been firebombed in the last month.

Vandalizers spray-painted the words “Jane Says Revenge” on the Capitol Hill Crisis Pregnancy Center in Washington D.C. earlier this month. The center’s windows were egged and red paint was spilled on the door.

Gresham Pregnancy Resource Center did not respond to request for comment.
