Johnny Depp’s popularity continues to soar, and Halloween costume sales can prove it.
The world’s largest costume retailer, Halloweencostumes.com, reported a 90% sales spike in purchases of Depp’s famous Disney character, Jack Sparrow, TMZ reported Tuesday. The retailer has issued two different Depp-inspired costumes for fans to select from, and they’re already flying off the shelves, well in advance of Halloween, according to TMZ. The basic Jack Sparrow costume costs $85, and a higher quality, more elaborate version retails for anywhere from $245-$299 each. The price tag doesn’t seem to have hindered the shopping experience. Halloweencostumes.com reported that they’ve sold so many Jack Sparrow costumes that they only have 15% of their inventory remaining, according to TMZ.Depp has made a huge comeback since his victory over Amber Heard in his $10 million defamation suit. Fans have swarmed his live concerts, and he has embarked on a world tour with Jeff Beck. Depp has also reignited his deal with Dior Sauvage men’s fragrance. The last “Pirates of the Caribbean” movie was released in 2017 yet the Jack Sparrow costumes remain in-demand today and are reportedly more popular than costumes linked to legendary movies such as “Top Gun: Maverick,” according to TMZ.
