The New York Post (NYP) confirmed Thursday morning that its Twitter account was hacked after the publication posted a slew of highly inappropriate tweets.
“The New York Post has been hacked,” the NYP tweeted shortly after a series of tweets with vulgar language were posted. “We are currently investigating the cause.”

While the tweets were quickly deleted, several were preserved with screenshots.
One tweet featured a picture of Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott with the caption, “Gov. Abbott: I will order Border Patrol to start slaughtering illegals.”

The New York Post confirmed later that the “unauthorized conduct was committed by an employee.”
NYPost’s Statement: “The New York Post’s investigation indicates that the unauthorized conduct was committed by an employee, and we are taking appropriate action. This morning, we immediately removed the vile and reprehensible content from our website and social media accounts.”

Another tweet included education watchdog Christopher Rufo and read, “Rufo: We must destroy and imprison Union teachers.” (RELATED: ‘Who The Hell Elected You?’- Ted Cruz Criticizes Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey For Censoring NY Post, Denying The Platform Impacts Elections)
Republican New York gubernatorial candidate Lee Zeldin was also a victim, with the account posting a picture of him in a side-by-side with Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul and the caption, “Zeldin: I will rape and batter Hochul’s sorry ass pussy.”
Other tweets also included Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Hunter Biden, as the NYP broke the Hunter Biden laptop story in 2020.
