White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said Wednesday that “mega MAGA” Republicans do not “believe in the rule of law” and don’t accept elections, hours ahead of President Joe Biden’s speech that is expected to focus on elections.

Biden is slated to give a speech Wednesday night at Washington D.C.’s Union Station on “preserving and protecting democracy” while addressing “the threat of election deniers and those who seek to undermine faith in voting and democracy,” according to CNN.

Jean-Pierre appeared to touch on that Wednesday afternoon, saying Biden intends to bring attention to the alleged “threat.”

“Democracy is under assault and we cannot pretend otherwise. The president will continue to call attention to the threat to Democratic integrity and to public safety posed by those who deny the documented truth about election results and those who seek to undermine public faith in our system of government.”

“We have seen mega MAGA Republican officials who don’t believe in the rule of law. They refuse to accept the results of free and fair elections and they fan the flames of political violence through what they praise, and what they refuse to condemn.” (RELATED: FLASHBACK: Biden Stoked Doubt On Legitimacy Of 2022 Midterms When Pushing For A Federal Takeover Of Elections)

Despite Jean-Pierre’s statement, Biden himself has cast doubt on elections, refusing to say in January whether the midterms would be legitimate.
